How are You Travelling?

How is your year going so far? Is it different to what you imagined?

Perhaps you set a New Year’s resolution? Are you still sticking with it?

Let me know how you are travelling…

Keep in mind, that sometimes your ability to stick with a chosen goal may be difficult, impractical or even an impossibility, due to changes that kinda just happen unexpectedly, and are often out of your control.

Remind yourself that you are doing ok and to just keep going with what you can, where you are able.

Be kind to yourself and spend time chatting to God about it all!

I set a New Year’s resolution this year. I needed to tweak it this week.

I felt a little disappointed about the change, however, as I spoke to God about it, while on an early morning walk, He reminded me about the important stuff. For me to just keep going in the areas I could, notice the pretty flowers that were around me, and take in the fresh air and sunshine as I walked.

I then came home and had a much needed sleep, before visiting a friend.

As I walked into her home, I saw that the same variety of flowers I’d seen on my walk were sitting in a vase on her dining room table. Just seeing the flowers put my mind at ease, and allowed God to reveal His peace to me in her home. The hot chocolate her husband made for me also helped!

No matter what goals you may have set for yourself this year, whether you are smashing them or tweaking them, spend time chatting with God. He loves to hear from you in the good and hard times. He doesn’t want you to be anxious or stressed about anything, and is always ready and willing to hear and respond to your most challenging thoughts and questions.

He also promises to provide you with His peace, so don’t shy away from being honest with Him. Make your needs known and He will answer, because He cares and loves you.

Enjoy a bit of fresh air, sunshine and notice the beauty of God’s creation. Make it a priority to get enough rest and good sleep where you can, and schedule visits with friends that treat you well, and care about who you are and what you do.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 NIV
